Steel bonded cemented carbide is short for steel bonded gold. It takes tungsten carbide or titanium carbide as hard phase and steel as binding phase (its volume fraction is generally above 50%). According to different application requirements, different steel grades can be selected as the matrix, including Cr-Mo tool steel, high speed steel, stainless steel and high manganese steel.
The hardness and wear resistance of steel-bonded cemented carbide are similar to some cemented carbides, and it has the machinability, heat treatment, forgeability and weldability of tool steel. It is a tool material between cemented carbide and tool steel, and is suitable for occasions where tool steel has insufficient wear resistance and cemented carbide is limited due to insufficient toughness and difficult processing and molding.
On the basis of maintaining high hardness and wear resistance, steel-bonded cemented carbide (DT alloy for short) greatly improves its strength and toughness, and has good thermal cracking resistance and comprehensive properties under alternating impact of chilling and heating, so it is suitable for use under large impact load.
DT alloy is widely used in all kinds of cold-working abrasives, warm-working abrasives, shearing tools and various wear-resistant parts, with long service life and remarkable economic benefits. According to the application results for many years, it can be summarized as follows:
The service life is ten to dozens times longer than that of alloy tool steel;
The material consumption rate is1/80 ~1/90 of alloy tool steel;
The cost of tools and dies is 70% ~ 90% lower than that of alloy tool steel.
App application
Examples of application fields:
Mould:
cold-heading
extend
blank
take away
drawing
bend
perforate
squeeze
riveting
Mould for shaping powder parts
Cutter:
milling cutter

To cut (wool)
cutter spindle
Among them, the service life of roller shear, cross shear and V-shaped die is several times that of alloy steel cutter. Cutting silicon steel sheet with this tool has the advantages of less burr, high quality, good stability and less auxiliary man-hours.
Tungsten carbide-based steel-bonded cemented carbide is also widely used to manufacture circular and straight sheet cutters to cut aluminum foil, stainless steel foil, plastics, circuit boards, paper products and chemical fiber materials.
