Seedling shaping and pruning methods. Fixed stem: Fixed stem height is not supported due to the different sizes of seedlings. Generally, the dry height of strong seedlings and seedlings with columns is 60 cm, while the dry height of thin seedlings and seedlings without columns is lower. The fixed stem is too low, the fruit branches are on the ground, and the flowers and fruits are damaged, which is not convenient for farming. The stem is too high, the center of gravity is unstable, and the crown is prone to tilt, which will affect the branch distribution, crown area and yield. Generally, in the year of planting, the top stems are cut from the height of 50~60 cm on the ground.
In the year of quick drying, all the nodes within the range of 10 ~ 15 cm are cut off (if it is the original secondary shoot on the trunk), the first layer of the trunk is selected to extend and grow sturdily and tied to the post, and 4 ~ 5 robust branches evenly distributed on the secondary shoot are selected as the main branches of the trunk. The first layer is 10 ~ 20 cm short section with heavy weak branches. You can also choose 3 ~ 4 branches on the upper part of the trunk as temporary fruiting branches, which is beneficial to shaping lateral fruiting. Extra branches on the trunk should be cut off, such as the main branches, and the bearing branches should be cultivated on both sides 1 ~ 2 branches, and the branches should be picked or cut at 10 cm (if the branches are weak, don't cut them, this work can be carried out next year).
If the sprouting branches of each main branch were not cut off last year, then in the second year, about 10 cm/2 branches should be selected on both sides of each main branch for cutting off, so as to promote the growth of branches, cultivate them into fruiting branches, and blossom and bear fruit. If the temporary fruiting branches left on the trunk in the first year are too weak or too dense, they can be thinned out. In the second year, because the tree is strong, more upright branches will be produced behind the main branches selected in the first year. Each branch can be selected as an extension of the main branch, and the core can be picked at 10~20 cm.
