Famous Doctor - Zhu Danxi

Zhu Danxi was famous, also named Yanxiu. Because he lived in Danxi for a long time, he was called Zhu Danxi, or respectfully called Danxi Weng, from 1281 to 1358 AD. In the 18th year of the Yuan Dynasty (the 18th year of the Yuan Dynasty to the 18th year of the Zhizheng Dynasty), he was born in Jinhua (now Yiwu County, Zhejiang Province) in the Yuan Dynasty. He was one of the four great medical scientists in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. He advocated the theory that yang is always in excess and yin is often insufficient, creating a deficiency of yin and fire. He is the founder of the "Yin Nourishing School" based on the theory of pathogenesis and making good use of prescriptions for nourishing yin and reducing fire.

Zhu Zhenheng was eager to learn since he was a child, and he just learned the art of raising children. He studied medicine vigorously and conducted in-depth study of classical medical books such as "Suwen" and "Nanjing". After studying for five years, he was able to present the disease. In order to further improve his medical skills, he went out to Zhejiang, visited Wuzhong, arrived in Nanxu, and reached Jianye to visit famous teachers. When he was forty-four years old, he studied medicine with Luo Zhiti. Luo was a famous doctor at that time, known as Mr. Taiwu in the world. He learned from Liu Wansu and passed it on, bypassing the theories of Zhang Congzheng and Li Gao. Danxi learned all he could and had the opportunity to absorb the strengths of the three schools of thought, integrate his own experience, and put forward unique academic insights, forming his own school. Zhu Danxi therefore attaches great importance to nourishing yin. And founded the "Ziyin School" theory.

Throughout Zhu Danxi’s life, the Yangyin School theory and his works he founded greatly enriched Chinese medicine’s understanding of the cause and pathogenesis and the content and scope of prescription drugs, and had a great influence on the development of Chinese medicine. His contribution was highly praised by later generations of doctors and also valued by foreign doctors. Danxi's theory has three main characteristics:

1. Explain the physiology and pathology of Xianghuo, explore the importance of Xianghuo to the human body, and explain the harm of Xianghuo's reckless action. Later generations who discussed the aspect of fire mostly developed it based on Zhu's theory.

2. Based on the theory of phase fire, the theory of "Yang is always in excess and Yin is often insufficient" was established, emphasizing the importance of "nourishing Yin" in health preservation and treatment, thus creating the theory of "nourishing Yin". Yin faction". The febrile disease school of later generations was deeply influenced by it.

3. Danxi has rich clinical experience. In terms of miscellaneous diseases, he has clarified the disease mechanisms of qi, blood, phlegm, stagnation, etc., enriching the content of clinical medicine. Through the efforts of his disciples, he has made Zhu's studies had a profound influence on internal medicine in later generations. Regarding the discussion of the phase fire, Zhu's theory mainly has two points: first, it emphasizes that the phase fire is the qi of the human body. Secondly, it emphasizes the importance of misbehavior in the occurrence of disease.

Zhu has rich experience in the clinical application of nourishing yin and reducing fire. Zhu did not adhere to one corner of his academic view. In addition to nourishing yin and reducing fire, he was also good at warming and nourishing. He once used Huang's Fuzi Decoction and Huang's Atractylodes Atractylodes Decoction to cure Brother Zheng's disease. Fu Wen's disease in Dongyang was cured by nourishing and warming the blood. Use Junbu method to cure Xu woman's dystocia. These are enough to show that Danxi is relatively comprehensive in medicine.

Zhu Danxi wrote many works throughout his life, mainly including the following: "Ge Zhi Yu Lun", a volume, written in 1347 AD; "Danxi Xinfa", written in 1347 AD, the whole book** *Five volumes, divided into one hundred categories, with six chapters including the Twelve Sutras and Testimonies in the front, followed by "The Biography of Danxi Weng" and "Jin Gui Gouxuan", which was written in 1358 AD.
