1, Zhang Yan, an anatomist and medical educator in China, used to be a professor at Hebei University Medical Department, Hunan Xiangya Medical College, Shanghai Medical College and Shanghai Southeast Medical College.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as professor of Peking Union Medical College, Capital Medical University, Institute of Experimental Medicine of China Academy of Medical Sciences, director of Health Bureau of Furong District, Changsha City, and vice president of China Academy of Medical Sciences, and was elected as chairman of Chinese Anatomy Society and director of Chinese Medical Association.

3. 1977 died at the age of 87. He has been engaged in the research of human brain sulcus, embryonic structure and histochemistry, and "Human Anatomy" has been compiled as a teaching material for medical colleges and universities all over the country.
