Mulberry planting method, how to plant mulberry
To plant mulberry trees well and improve their survival rate, we must first level the land and dig deep in an all-round way. On this basis, we must master the following links:

(1) Apply sufficient base fertilizer.

Before planting, dig a planting ditch or hole with a depth of 50 cm and a width of 60 cm according to the predetermined row spacing, dig the bottom of the ditch, and apply 2500 kg of base fertilizer to the ditch per mu. A certain amount of lime should be applied to acidic soil according to acidity. Apply 3 ~ 5 kg of base fertilizer to each hole. After applying base fertilizer, cover a layer of topsoil of 4 ~ 6 cm to prevent mulberry roots from directly contacting fertilizer.

(2) Select improved varieties and strong seedlings

According to the local soil, climate and other natural conditions, select suitable fine varieties, and require the seedlings to be healthy and tidy, with complete roots and no pests and diseases. Mulberry seedlings transferred from other places should be kept fresh and strictly treated with pests and diseases. The roots of seedlings should be trimmed less, only the injured, withered and overlapping roots should be cut off, and the incision should be smooth.

(3) Deep ploughing and shallow planting

Mulberry planting should be deeply turned over and shallowly planted. Shallow seed means that the roots of mulberry seedlings (at the junction of green and yellow) are buried in the soil not more than 10 cm. Because the roots are close to the surface, the temperature is high and the ventilation is good, and mulberry trees grow fast. But it should not be too shallow to prevent the root system from wilting. Deep planting should be carried out in sandy soil, dry climate, cold and windy areas. When planting, the roots of seedlings should be exposed. After planting seedlings, first fill in the surface soil, bury the roots, gently lift and shake the mulberry roots, so that the roots are closely connected with the soil layer, and then apply them. In rainy areas, the soil is slightly higher than the ground and shaped like steamed bread to prevent water accumulation and affect survival.

(4) cutting off the seedling tips

After the seedlings are fixed, according to different cultivation forms, the shoots are cut and fixed. Plants in winter can be pruned after the freezing period and before the juice flows out in early spring, while plants in spring can be pruned immediately after planting. If the shoots are used as scions, they can also be cut when cutting the ears.
