What are the requirements for the folded rib plate of single-layer aluminum curtain wall?
Curtain wall forming plate can be folded or unfolded. When the flanging forming plate is bent, the radius of the outer arc should not be less than 1.5 times of the plate thickness, and the corner opening should be sealed with sealant. Stiffening ribs can be set as required, and the connection between ribs and plates can be made by threaded connection (electric bolt welding), structural adhesive bonding or 3M adhesive tape. When welding the fixing bolts with electric bolts, it is necessary to ensure that the outer surface of the aluminum plate is not deformed, does not fade and is firmly fixed. The reinforcing rib shall be reliably connected with the hem or auxiliary frame (Figure 463- 1). Because ribs are the supporting beams of plates, they should also have their own supports, and the load they bear from plates should be transferred to the curtain wall frame system through the supports. If the rib is not connected with the flange (subframe), the load on the rib will be transferred to the plate through the connector at the end, and this section of plate will become the support of the rib, and the load on the grid plate in this area will be transferred to the rib.
