Basic tips for planting trees in Xinjiang

1. Specifications of tree planting holes

1. Excavate a tree planting hole with a diameter of 0.8 meters and a depth of 0.6 meters square centered on the point to be dug for Pinus sylvestris, Sophora japonica, weeping willow and elm. .

2. For Poplar and Elaeagnus in Xinjiang, dig a tree planting hole with a diameter of 0.6 meters and a depth of 0.6 meters square centered on the location.

3. Excavate a tree planting hole with a diameter of 0.4 meters and a depth of 0.4 meters square centered on the planned point for plum blossoms, forsythia and cloves.

4. Level the tree planting ditch in the 24-meter-wide green belt according to the figure below.

2. Planting technology

The tree planting hole shall be excavated first, and then the green belt shall be leveled. After completion and acceptance, the seedlings will be planted. The technical requirements of "one lift, two steps and three burials" are adopted for planting. The planting depth should be slightly higher than the original soil mark of the seedlings after the tree planting hole is filled with soil. "Benchmark trees" for alignment should be planted every 10-20 trees in the same row. If there are seedlings with bent trunks, they should be bent into the row and aligned with the "benchmark trees". The difference between the left and right should not exceed half of the trunk.

1. Planting of Sophora japonica, Xinjiang Poplar, Elaeagnus angustifolia and flowering shrub seedlings. First fill some topsoil at the bottom of the hole and pile it into a mound shape. Then put the seedlings into the hole and fill in the crushed moist topsoil. When it reaches about half the height of the hole, gently lift the seedlings to allow the roots to stretch downward naturally. Then step it down and continue to fill it with soil. After the hole is filled, step it down again and finally cover it with a layer of soil.

2. Planting of Pinus sylvestris seedlings. First fill the bottom of the hole with some topsoil so that the depth of the tree planting hole is the same as the height of the soil ball, then put the seedlings into the hole (with the full side of the tree crown facing the main viewing direction), and put a small amount of soil around the lower part of the soil ball to make the tree stand upright. When it is stable, fill in half of the topsoil, and compact the soil ball around it. Finally, fill the hole until it is full and compact it firmly (pay special attention not to break the soil ball).

3. Arrange tree planting ditches. In order to facilitate the irrigation of seedlings, the tree planting ditch should be arranged after planting. For Sophora japonica and Pinus sylvestris, tree planting trenches should be leveled with each row of trees 1.5 meters wide and with a ridge height of 40 centimeters; for three rows of Xinjiang Poplar (Elaeagnus angustifolia) trees, the tree planting trench should be leveled with a width of 6 meters and a ridge height of 40 centimeters.
