2. Pruning method. There are many pruning methods for boxwood balls, most of which are bud peeling, core picking, short cutting and branch thinning. Boxwood balls are mainly spherical, so pay special attention to their shape when pruning. When the new buds of boxwood ball germinate in spring, we should start pruning, cutting off its vigorous branches, excessive branches, cross branches, weak branches and diseased branches, so as to make its plants grow healthily. If the twigs of boxwood balls are too dense, we should properly thin the branches to increase the ventilation and transparency of their plants. Boxwood balls should be trimmed during the whole growth period, and boxwood balls in green belts should be trimmed regularly, otherwise its plants will lose their beauty.
