First, modeling. A naturally open central shape. When planting young cherry trees in that year, you can choose a suitable height (40- 100 cm) to dry in the place where the buds are full, and cut off the above parts to ensure that the cut buds are full. And keep 3-4 main branches, choose appropriate culture direction, angle and growth amount, make the main branches evenly distributed, and cut off other long competitive branches, twigs and dense branches. When pruning in winter, the main branches should be shortened to promote the development of lateral branches. The cut buds should be full and outward, so as to induce new buds to grow outward and open trees. The trunk is layered, and it can be done in 60-80cm in the first spring. Choose three main branches and central branches on the first floor in the second and third years, and two main branches and branches on the second floor in the third and fourth years. Every year, when the buds are full, the main branches and side branches are cut short to promote growth and expand the crown.
Second, pruning. During the dormant period every year, the extension branches of the main branches and side branches should be shortened appropriately to promote branching and expand the crown. At the same time, try to use as few twigs, too dense branches and branches with fierce competition as possible to make the branches in the crown dense, scattered, open and transparent. Generally speaking, the trunk does not need to take shortcuts, and the density is sparse. Keep new branches, such as pest branches, too dense branches and sparse interfering branches. Don't cut the remaining branches, put them slowly, let the long branches sprout at the top, and the short branches bloom in the middle and lower parts. After several years of growth, the crown will swell excessively and the branches will age. To make cherry blossoms bloom every year, we must take them back, update them appropriately and cultivate new branches.
