First of all, theoretical knowledge and safety education are essential. Before turning the lathe to cut parts, the teacher spent a whole day teaching us theoretical knowledge. Although the first day was boring, it was only one of the most important materials. For example, when clamping a tool, the vertical distance between the blade and the bottom of the handle is 143.5mm, which reduces the number of times the tool is aligned with the center of the part. When installing tools, the gasket is directly measured with a ruler, and after 143.5mm, it is basically equal to the center of the part, which saves the time for tool alignment.
When clamping the workpiece, it must be tightened with a booster to avoid accidents caused by parts flying out, and use tools correctly. It is also a necessary assessment for each student to practice lathe before each internship. Only by shaking the big and middle drag plates skillfully can we make necessary preparations for turning parts and avoid the collision between tools and parts. Because the lathe we practiced this time is different from the lathe we practiced on the job, there are differences in automatic feeding and speed adjustment. I still feel very nervous when I turn to the first part, and I am so careful to avoid mistakes at every step. The first and second parts are rotated by the stepping shaft, mainly to let us master the control of the excircle and the use and reading of the micrometer. When measuring parts, vernier caliper and micrometer must be used together, and the micrometer should be used to measure within the specified size of 65438±0mm, which can effectively control the size of the excircle. When the finish turning occurs again, you must first try to cut and measure it to see if the size is within the range, so that the precision of the machined parts is relatively high.
The third part is tapered and needs to turn the necessary dial. When turning, first shake the big carriage to the specified scale, then aim the middle carriage at the tool, then the small carriage exits and the big carriage does not move. Finally, after adjusting the scale, use a small carriage to manually feed and turn out the taper. First of all, you need to try to cut, measure with a universal square, and continue to rotate the tool while ensuring the correct angle. If there is a gap at the small end, it means that the angle is increased, otherwise it is small, and you need to readjust the degree and try again. Before machining the taper, the parts must not be removed from the chuck, otherwise the turned taper will deviate from the concentric axis of the circle and produce a taper curve.
The last day's processing is just some boring basic operations. First of all, drilling is necessary. When using a drill bit, coolant must be added. When the drill bit enters the parts and drills through, it should be slow to prevent the drill bit from shaking and the drilled hole is too large, which should not be larger than the diameter of the drill bit. When boring, the main deflection angle of boring tool is 91~ 93. When rotating, it is roughly the same as the outer circle, but in the opposite direction. When measuring the size, you need to use an inner diameter dial gauge to measure it.
Generally speaking, the first week's internship went smoothly without much difficulty. After all, it was because of the previous internship, and the turning part was also practiced before, mainly because the length of the parts was not controlled enough.
