Putian is located in the central coastal area of Fujian, bordering the Taiwan Province Strait in the southeast, Fuqing City in Fuzhou in the northeast, Yongchun County, Nan 'an City, Luojiang District and Quangang District in Quanzhou in the southwest, Dehua County in Quanzhou and Yongtai County in Fuzhou in the northwest.
