When are apricots planted?
Apricot trees can be divided into spring planting and autumn planting Spring sowing time is after Tomb-Sweeping Day and before Grain Rain, the best sowing time in autumn and winter every year, and the best sowing time is before soil freezing.

Apricot is a positive tree species, with strong adaptability, deep root system, photophobia, drought tolerance, cold tolerance and wind resistance, and its life span can reach more than 100 years. It is the main cultivated fruit tree in low mountains and hills.

Apricot trees are produced in all parts of China, most of which are cultivated, especially in North China, Northwest China and East China. A few areas fled to the wild and became pure forests in Yili, Xinjiang or mixed with wild apple forests in Xinjiang, with an altitude of 3000 meters.

Apricot cultivation has a long history, and the main cultivated varieties of apricot in China can be divided into the following three categories according to their uses.

1. Edible apricot: The fruit is big, plump and juicy, with moderate sweet and sour taste and bright color. They are mainly used for raw food and processing. There are more than 200 cultivated varieties in North China and Northwest China.

2. Apricot for kernel: the fruit is small and the flesh is thin. The seeds are fat, sweet and bitter. Almonds are mainly used for food and medicine, but the pulp of some varieties can also be dried.

3. Apricot for processing: thick flesh, rich in sugar and easy to dry. Some sweet kernel varieties can be used as both meat and kernel. For example, Aksumi in Xinjiang, Kumanti in Qizil and Dallas in Qizil are all excellent varieties for fresh eating, sun drying and kernel taking.
