The method of rotational molding process is to add plastic into the mold first, and then the mold rotates continuously along two vertical axes and is heated. Under the action of gravity and heat energy, the plastic in the mold is gradually and evenly coated, melted and attached to the whole surface of the mold cavity, molded into the required shape, and cooled and shaped.
Compared with the traditional blow molding and injection molding processes, the rotational molding process has the following advantages:
1. cost advantage: in the rotational molding process, only the strength of the frame is needed to support the weight of the material, the mold and the frame itself, thus preventing the clamping force of material leakage; In addition, in the whole molding process, the material is hardly influenced by any external force except the action of natural gravity, so it has the advantages of convenient machining and manufacturing, short cycle and low cost.
2. Quality advantage. In the whole production process, because there is no internal stress, the product quality and structure are more stable.
3. The advantages of flexibility. The machine model of rotational molding process is convenient to manufacture and low in price, which is especially suitable for multi-variety and small batch production in new product development.
4. Advantages of personalized design. The products of rotational molding process are easy to change color and can be hollow (seamless and welded). The surface treatment of products can achieve the effect of patterns, wood, stone and metal, and meet the individual needs of consumers in modern society.
The products produced by this process are: oil tank, water tank, mechanical shell, fender and so on. The main replacement objects are metal parts and FRP products.
