Director robert altman was very popular in 1970s, and this film was the masterpiece of that year. In the Korean War Workshop, two American military doctors (donald sutherland and Elliott Gould) thought that the war was irrelevant when they were serving in the front-line field hospital. They either have sex with female nurses all day or play golf in the camp.
The director satirized the present with exaggerated jokes of black comedy, and made a lot of satire on the Vietnam War which was in full swing at that time, in order to achieve its anti-war purpose, which was quite artistic and entertaining. Later, because the film was a blockbuster, it was also developed into a TV series of the same name and broadcast for many years.
Noise shaping technology
MASH (multilevel noise shaping) is a multilevel noise shaping technology.
It retains the error between the initial quantized value and the original signal, and subtracts the previous quantized value and error from the original signal in the next quantization. Repeated several times, the binary signal can be converted into a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal (almost the same as PDM), and the noise generated by quantization can be pushed to a very high frequency band, thus reducing the noise in the audible frequency band.
The founder is NTT, but it seems that only Panasonic has adopted this technology in large quantities. MASH is rare now, but it is excellent in theory.
