Avner was born in Flint, Michigan on August 27th, 1958/KLOC-0, and grew up in a community where Indian Huron and Lakota lived together. Before the age of 22, his life was no different from that of ordinary people, including going to school, doing military service and working. But talking to a tribal leader changed Avner's life.
The tribal leader talked to him about the importance of keeping traditions, such as Indians dressing themselves up as totems of their tribe with painted clothes and iron rings. Inspired by this, Avner decided to be a "tiger man".
But he said that he didn't get much pleasure from the process of "Tiger Man" because it just made him move towards his goal. Avner's goal is to achieve a perfect transition between tigers and people, and to combine the advantages of both creatures.
At the age of 23, he took the first step to be a tiger man and asked someone to tattoo his face with tiger stripes. Since then, he has received head plastic surgery projects including sharpening teeth, cutting off the upper lip under the ear, sharpening ears, filling cheeks, filling forehead, and changing his nose into a flat nose with nostrils facing the sky.
Every morning, Avner also wears a fake moustache with the help of her nails. In order to keep the fake tiger from falling all day, he asked someone to install these nails through his lips.
According to American law, regular plastic surgeons can't accept Avner's plastic surgery requirements, so most of his plastic surgery was done by Steve Hayward, a body transformation artist in Phoenix, Arizona.
Avner is covered with almost all kinds of tattoos and always wears green clothes. He plans to install two stainless steel brackets on the top of his head to install fake tiger ears.
Avner has an Indian name called "Sneaking Cat". He wrote on his personal website: "I am a descendant of Huron and Lakota. I turned myself into a tiger according to a very old tradition of Huron. As a tiger fan, I naturally like to climb trees and eat meat every day, just like a real tiger would do. " However, Avner doesn't live the life of a tiger 24 hours a day. He lives in a neighborhood where he repairs computers for a living. When "Tiger Man" became famous, he appeared in many TV programs. In June 2007, he also participated in the "Believe it or not in ripley" fun festival held in new york.
Avner's pet is a cat. Talking about the difference between himself and the people around him, he thinks that "the only difference is that I look like a cat".
When talking about whether to find a female "tiger man" to marry, Avner said that although it is a bit difficult, it is not impossible. "I'm dating two women now," the Daily Mail quoted Avner as saying. "They understand my idea that being a tiger is more important than being a human being, which is difficult for many women to accept."
Although Avner claims to be mentally normal, doctors such as Kevin Gournay, a professor at the British Institute of Neurology, think that he may suffer from a rare body deformation. This is a preconceived idea of imagination, or a slight appearance defect. Patients with this disease are very disgusted with a certain part of themselves and feel ugly, so they always try to change. The doctor thinks that Avner is immersed in the idea of turning himself into a tiger.
