The ultimate goal of treatment is to preserve the function of the big joint as much as possible and minimize the damage of ankylosing spondylitis to other organs in the whole body. Systematic medication should be used in acute attack, and joint function exercise should be strengthened in non-acute attack. If the disease of ankylosing spondylitis develops to the late stage, it may remain the rigidity of hip joint, knee joint or spine.
