Fujian Shipping and Transportation Vocational College, located in Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is the only provincial-level public vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education in Fujian Province and one of the first batch of 28 national demonstration vocational colleges in China.
The college covers an area of more than 580 mu and has three teaching units, including marine engineering department, navigation technology department, management engineering department and automobile application engineering department. It has opened 63 majors covering highway, shipping, emerging economic and social construction and other technical and management fields, with more than 13000 students.
The earliest predecessor school of the College is Fujian Ship Administration School, the first government-run higher industrial school in modern China, which was founded in 1866. Yan Fu, Zhan Tianyou, Deng Shichang, Chen Qitong, Sa Zhenbing and other groups of people with lofty ideals and national heroes have been trained.
