Methods of shaping and pruning flowers in Tang Di
Prune once a year from June 5 to February. Cut dead branches, over-dense branches, old branches and redundant branches from the base. Cutting off branches more than 50 cm after flowering is beneficial to the germination of new buds at the lower part. Because most flowers bloom on new branches, they can only be pruned, not shortened.

Plant type

Ditanghua is a deciduous shrub, with a height of1-2m and a thickness of 3m. Branchlets are green, cylindrical, glabrous, usually arched, and shoots have _ angles.

The flowers in Tang Di have no trunk, and the green shoots are clustered from the surface, so they are clustered.

Pruning method

Tang Di likes sunshine and warm environment, and is more resistant to shade and cold, but more resistant to humidity. In order to make Tang Di blossom and bear fruit every year, reasonable pruning must be carried out every year.

Pruning will take place in1-February. Dead branches, too dense branches, old branches with hard and white bases, etc. will be cut off from the base. Plant regeneration is carried out once every 5- 10 years, leaving 1 0-15 cm off the ground after flowering, and all the rest are cut off.

When flowers bloom in Tang Di, leave branches about 50 cm high and cut off the upper branches, which can promote the germination of the lower buds.

In the spring of the following year, from February to March, the flowers in Tang Di were pruned for several days on sunny days, which could make the branches bloom more vigorously and increase the number of flowers.

If you want to have more branches, you can keep only 7 cm and cut off the rest.

Matters needing attention

In the process of pruning, if it is found that the branches are dying from top to bottom, the dead branches should be cut off immediately, otherwise the dead state will spread to the roots, leading to the death of the whole plant.

There is still the possibility of dead branches after falling leaves, so we should observe them in time and deal with them in time.

Because most of the flowers in Tang Di bloom at the tips of new branches, they can only be thinned, not cut short. If it is cut short, the flower buds at the tip of the branches will be cut off, which will directly affect the flowering in the next spring.

After winter or before germination in early spring, cutting off the dense old branches, twigs and branches of diseases and pests can not only keep the plant symmetrical and beautiful, but also bloom luxuriantly.
