In the Yuan Dynasty, it was originally called Guide House, and now it is called Shangqiu.
Shangqiu ancient city is located in the south of Shangqiu. It has a history of more than 4000 years since the capital was established by commercial contract. Due to its long history and natural disasters, the ancient city has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, but the scope is within ten miles from north to south. The ancient city of Shangqiu was built in the sixth year of the Ming Dynasty (15 1 1). Shangqiu, Suiyang, Song State, Nanjing and Guide House are the names of different periods in Shangqiu history. China's famous names are Suiyang and Guidefu.
The trinity of city wall, city profile and city lake makes the outer ring of the ancient city inside a huge ancient coin shape, and the building is very unique. There is a metaphor that Shangqiu is the birthplace of commodities, commerce and commercial culture in China. The city wall is 3.6 kilometers in circumference and has four gates, east, west, north and south.
The city gate is an arch coupon type and has been well preserved so far. Outside the original city gate, there is also an urn in a semicircle. The city gate does not collide with the main entrance, the north gate faces west, the east gate and the west gate face south, and the south gate faces east. Therefore, the ancient city of Shangqiu has the saying of "four doors and eight mouths". The situation in the city is turtle back, and most of the buildings in the city are quadrangles. According to the theory of the five elements, in order to prevent Jin Mu from interacting with each other, the east and west gates of the ancient city were separated by a street, making it the only one in the ancient city of China.
Today, the streets of Shangqiu ancient city still maintain the ancient architectural style. The famous writer's "Zhuang Regret Hall" located in the ancient city attracts tourists from all directions. South of the city, by the ancient Song River, there is the Baguan Pavilion, which is famous both at home and abroad and engraved with the handwriting of Yan Zhenqing, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. From Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, two great scholars (prime ministers), namely Shen Li, Song Kuang, Li Ruhua, Hou Yao, Lv Kun, Yang Dongming and Yuan Keli, as well as more than ten assistant ministers, governors, censors, company commanders and famous literati appeared in Shangqiu ancient city. Due to the Millennium breach of the Yellow River, there are still several ancient cities under Shangqiu, such as Song State in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Suiyang Ancient City in the Han and Tang Dynasties, Nanjing City in the Song Dynasty and Guide City in the Yuan Dynasty. Shangqiu Ancient City is one of the well-preserved ancient cities in China, and it is a national key cultural relic protection unit. The existing Shangqiu ancient city is a famous historical and cultural city with great scientific research value, with rigorous planning, reasonable pattern and simple modeling, which is rare in the world.
