How to correct teeth and prevent tooth decay
Dental caries, commonly known as "long tooth decay", is a bacterial disease. If not treated properly, it will lead to other diseases, such as pulpitis, periapical periodontitis, alveolar bone and jaw inflammation. Dental caries are mostly caused by unclean teeth. So what is easy to get dental caries?

What situation is prone to dental caries?

First, the bacteria remaining in molars and bicuspids are prone to tooth decay.

According to this study, deciduous molars and permanent molars are the most prone to dental caries, followed by bicuspids. Because these teeth have more gingival sulcus, it is easier to store food residues and bacteria, and it is not easy to rinse off when gargling. Because of their long-term existence, local acidity increases, and sharp calcium in dentin begins in alveolar fossa.

Second, two teeth can "infect" tooth decay.

For teeth, even in different parts of the teeth, the probability of dental caries is different. The adjacent surfaces of two teeth are prone to dental caries. This is because the adjacent teeth of the two teeth are not easy to brush clean, food residues accumulate more, and local acidity is higher.

Therefore, we should get into the habit of flossing our teeth every day, which can effectively prevent neighboring caries. Of course, there are parts that are prone to dental caries, and there are also parts that are not prone to dental caries, such as smooth parts of the tooth surface and cusp parts. Because of its strong self-cleaning function, there is less chance of dental caries.

Third, children's deciduous teeth provide excellent growth space for dental caries.

First of all, because many children and adolescents still have deciduous teeth, deciduous teeth are less calcified than permanent teeth, their surfaces are not as hard as permanent teeth, and their ability to resist bacterial corrosion is also poor.

Secondly, because children often like to eat sweets, there are more carbohydrates for bacteria to use, and it is not easy for children to develop the habit of brushing their teeth regularly. If the work of cleaning the mouth is not timely or correct, food residues are more likely to stay in the mouth, especially on the surface of teeth, which provides conditions for bacteria to produce acid and destroy teeth.

Fourth, poor tooth development is also prone to tooth decay.

In addition, some people have bad tooth calcification and abnormal morphological development; Some children's deciduous teeth fall off too early or too late, and the position of permanent teeth is disordered, which is also easy to cause dental caries. The position of the third molar in the oral cavity tends to tilt because of the lack of eruption position, and the gap between the third molar and the second molar increases, so there is more chance of dental caries.

Four prevention and treatment methods of dental caries

1. Preventive filling method: Preventive filling method was put forward in the 1920s. This method refers to forming narrow and deep pits and grooves on the occlusal surface of teeth prone to dental caries, making holes with various points and cracks, and filling them with filling materials to prevent the development of dental caries.

2. Fluoride caries prevention method: Fluorine is an essential trace element for normal metabolism of human body, especially in caries prevention. Therefore, coating fluoride on the surface of teeth or drinking fluoride-containing water can prevent dental caries.

3. Pit and fissure sealing method: Pit and fissure sealing method was put forward in 1960s to prevent dental caries. Pit and fissure sealing is an effective method to prevent dental caries of deciduous teeth. There are deep and narrow pits and grooves on the occlusal surface of deciduous molars and mandibular first permanent molars, and food debris is not easy to clean, which makes them accumulate and form dental plaque, and dental caries bacteria produce acid and cause dental caries. Early pit and fissure sealing of deciduous and permanent molars in children can effectively prevent pit and fissure caries.

4. Control dietary factors: People should limit the intake of sugary foods, adopt sucrose substitutes, improve the health awareness of restricting sucrose intake, especially carry out health education on "eating less snacks and establishing reasonable eating habits" for young children. In addition, the food industry should pay attention to the development of foods with little or no caries, and fundamentally control the dental caries in the diet.
