Cultivation History of Apple Pear in Yanbian of Longjing Pear Festival
192 1 year, Korean Cui fandou introduced 6 pear tree scions from Beiqing County, South Hamgyong Province, North Korea, and grafted them with the northern cold-resistant yamanashi rootstock growing in Xiaoji Village, Taoyuan Township, Longjing City. Only three trees survived that year, and they were widely spread because of their excellent quality and crisp and refreshing taste.

Starting from 1953, technicians changed the branch grafting propagation of apple pear to bud grafting seedling, changed the rootstock from yamanashi root to yamanashi seedling, pruned and reshaped it, and changed it from ring to evacuation stratification, and adopted artificial pollination to popularize a set of comprehensive cultivation techniques such as slope cultivation and pest control. Through the continuous cultivation and breeding of several generations of pear farmers and technicians, the scale has gradually expanded.

Yanbian is a minority area, and the state strongly supports the development of border economy from financial and material resources, which has rapidly expanded the planting area of apples and pears in Yanbian. At present, the planting scale of apples and pears in Quanzhou has reached 6.5438+0.2 million hectares, with an annual output of more than 90,000 tons and an output value of nearly 100 million yuan. It is one of the pillar industries in Yanbian's characteristic industries.

Because of its cold resistance, high yield, fresh and sweet fruit, excellent quality and strong storage resistance, Yanbian apple pear has been introduced and popularized in more than 20 regions of China and countries such as South Korea and Romania.
