How to maintain the servo motor?

First, the encoder fails.

When the encoder fails, there is generally no output (the motor does not turn) or the rotor is out of step, which leads to the inconsistency between the speed feedback value and the actual value. At this time, it can be solved by changing the parameters of the controller or changing the drive.

Second, the motor failure

Motor faults mainly include phase-to-phase short circuit, grounding, rotor blockage, lack of phase and open circuit of a certain phase. These faults will cause the servo motor to stop running or the speed is abnormal.

Third, drive failure.

The driver is generally composed of power amplifier, pulse generator, ring distributor and so on. If a fault occurs, it generally has the following performance:

No output or incorrect output voltage: at this time, it is necessary to check the connection between the driver and the servo motor and the power supply voltage.

Overload: at this time, it is necessary to reduce the load or replace the drive and motor with large capacity.

Out-of-step: If there is nothing wrong with the load, it may be that the pulse ring distributor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Strong vibration: it may be that the pulse ring distributor and the power amplifier are not fastened properly, and screws need to be fastened.

Noise: This may be a problem with the drive disk or the pulse ring distributor and needs to be replaced.

Unable to communicate normally: this may be a problem with the interface circuit. It is necessary to check whether the interface circuit is connected correctly, check the state of each element step by step, and troubleshoot.

Unable to set parameters or initialize: This may be a software setting error or an interface circuit failure, so it is necessary to reset parameters or contact professionals for troubleshooting.
