The History of Chrysanthemum Flower Petals Exhibition in Chrysanthemum City
Since the Song Dynasty was occupied by the Yuan Dynasty, there have been frequent wars. From the Yuan Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, people were a little sleepy. Noble families, taking part in the imperial examination, set foot on the road of being an official eunuch. People who are proud of their hometown will build more palaces and gardens and take pleasure in raising flowers and chrysanthemums. By the Ming Dynasty, the chrysanthemum art of Xiaolan had flourished, and the cultivation of chrysanthemum had become very common. According to Li, a Xiaolan person who was then the secretary of the two houses of Nanjing, the article "On the Landscape of Two Alleys" was praised as "Five Pines and Six Roads, Three Yards of Water, Twelve Bridges and One Hole of Plum Blossom, and the Year of Watching Chrysanthemum Village", which showed that Xiaolan people were good at chrysanthemum art at that time. Every year, when chrysanthemums were in full bloom, three or five friends gathered to enjoy flowers as a farewell.

When the Qing army entered the customs, the flames of war continued, Xiaolan could not escape bad luck, and the people were in hot water. During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, the society gradually stabilized, and the artistic level of chrysanthemum of Xiaolan people was further improved, and a set of systematic experience was gained in chrysanthemum cultivation, such as plastic coring, maintenance and management. At this time, new varieties were introduced from Shanghai, Jiangnan and other places, adding varieties and colors. Some squires and businessmen, in their spare time, follow Tao Qian's example and send flowers to the East Fence. Chrysanthemum art is more prosperous than in the past. Xiaolan at this time has been called "Little Chai Sang". In Chen Bing (1736), in the first year of Qing Qianlong, there was a chrysanthemum contest in Lan Xiang. After the early years of first frost, a flower shed was built in front of the ancestral halls of Li and He in the township, and a chrysanthemum field was built to list famous flowers. Scholars of various surnames named Chrysanthemum to recite poems, praised them, pushed them to the top, and awarded prizes in turn. The evaluation of chrysanthemum is based on "three noes", that is, no shedding of skirts (leaves), no crossing branches and no kneeling branches. The technique of establishing chrysanthemum was applied, with the style of "three branches and six tops" and the variety of "a pinch of snow" as the pole. After the test, yarn, satin towels, fans and other items will be issued respectively. This is the so-called "chrysanthemum trial" (according to the records of Xiangshan County Records in the light years of Qing Dynasty, chrysanthemum trial is to gather the famous species planted by villagers when chrysanthemums are in full bloom, set up a reward grid and evaluate them). When enjoying the chrysanthemum, the troupe was invited to perform in the theater shed of Huatian, which was very lively.

After five years of Qing Qianlong (1740), the "bunch of snow" was almost lost, and the chrysanthemum examination was no longer held. Then various surnames and clans dominated, forming various "chrysanthemum societies" with temples and workshops. The habit of evaluating exams follows the legacy of "taking literature as a friend" of former sages. Every time they celebrate the Double Ninth Festival, they will move their beautiful chrysanthemums to the social center, "unite two or three confidants, stand against the fence and ask before the flowers" (see Xiangshan County Records). With regard to the Chrysanthemum Society, He Dazuo (whose real name is Sharla Cheung, whose real name is Li Zhai, the grandson of a minister in the late Ming Dynasty) of Xiaolan in the Qing Dynasty wrote in the book Xie Lan: "Those who join the Chrysanthemum Society will not be paid in advance and will not pay any money. Unlike the chrysanthemum trial, they will only gather gay friends who cut chrysanthemums and move all the beautiful things to the society. After the club broke up, there were flowers for the gift givers, and they left with a full boat. " Then it will be indefinite, or ten or twenty years.

In the forty-seventh year of Qing Qianlong, Renyin (1782), the chrysanthemum clubs jointly held a once-in-a-decade "Yellow Flower Club", which turned the former chrysanthemum club into a small group to participate in the chrysanthemum club. According to Xiangshan County Records, it was the "first meeting" of Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Club. At that time, all surnames in Lanxiang were decorated. Chrysanthemum farms of various surnames not only set up chrysanthemums, but also widely set up flower stands, flower houses and flower bridges, and also served as entertainment. There are more than ten sets of acting alone. At night, lanterns are decorated in colorful, staying up all night, and there are many tourists. At that time, Peng, the county magistrate of Xiangshan County, once praised Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Club as "the flower season in Lanshi is full of charm".

In the fifty-sixth year of Qing Qianlong (179 1 year), the scale of the second "Huanghua Club" was larger than that of the first. In the 18th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, Gui You (1813) was a member of Huanghua Club in 2008, which was the year when his ancestors came to Xiaolan from Nanxiong Zhuji Lane. In the second year, it was JOE who advocated the Huanghua Society to expand its activities and hold a gathering of ten chrysanthemum societies in the countryside.

Therefore, in the 19th year of Jiaqing (18 14), the first chrysanthemum meeting was held to commemorate the opening of the village, and the next year in JOE was designated as the Xiaolan chrysanthemum meeting period, that is, every 60 years from Jiazi. This is Xiaolan's "JOE Chrysanthemum Festival" which has been handed down to this day. This year, there are 3,000 flower beds, 12 Qionglou, boats shuttling around, and people crowded for gold. According to the "Chrysanthemum Classic Answer" of that year, it was recorded: "From the east of Lan, I evaluated the sea surface, drifted back to Haizhou, and painted oars and sails; In an endless stream, the guests tried to push the canopy to see the top. There are absolutely twelve Qionglou, and thousands of people are out of the blue. Coming by plane is really like an island floating mountain to attend an English meeting. " "Xiangshan County Records" also said: "When the four sides came to see each other once, although the peasants closed up, they changed their faces from sweet and sour." There are 72 kinds of chrysanthemums.

In the 13th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1874), people held the second chrysanthemum meeting as usual. At that time, the Chrysanthemum Society was composed of three clans: He, Li and Mai, and its scale was larger than that of the previous generation. It's time to put the emperor to death. Under the pretext of national mourning, drum music is forbidden and there is no pear garden to entertain guests. In order to increase the lively atmosphere, the conference was held in Chongyang on 1999. Scholars from all over the country gathered to hold a large-scale "Chrysanthemum Banquet" and held a banquet to collect poems, which made it strong.

In the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), the third conference of Chrysanthemum morifolium was held every 60 years. At that time, the Japanese invaders invaded, the northeast fell, the country was in crisis, the countryside was depressed, the economy was depressed, and it was planned to close. However, many villagers thought that the event was hard to come by, and Qi Xin still made concerted efforts to hold it as scheduled. This time, it was exhibited in the five districts of the town, east, west, north and south, and the streets and alleys were full of flowers. There are 24 flower sheds, flower houses 12, flower streets 12, 8 flower bridges, 6 flower pagodas, 9 chrysanthemum art fields, and a theater 1 1. It has also specially opened a provincial and Hong Kong Xiaolan Association amusement park, a health competition for the elderly, an agricultural exhibition, and a round-the-clock parade of "Water Color" and "Fish Lantern". Millions of tourists from far and near are all amazed. Therefore, there is a saying that "it is really valuable to experience life twice". After the founding of New China, people thought that the chrysanthemum once every 60 years was too long, so they changed it to 10. 1959, in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Xiaolan held the first chrysanthemum meeting after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Some newspapers and periodicals inside and outside the province reported the grand occasion of the Chrysanthemum Festival for several days, calling Xiaolan "Chrysanthemum City", and the name of "Chrysanthemum City" has been widely circulated since then.

* * * The second Chrysanthemum Festival after the Republic of China was not held as scheduled in 1969 due to ten years of turmoil, and was later held in 1973. This year's scale is small, and there are few traditional famous chrysanthemums participating. However, based on the innovative spirit of Xiaolan people, they created various chrysanthemum modeling arts, and created dozens of models of birds, animals, insects, fish and figures in the form of three-dimensional and floating plastic. Of course, there was a political episode in the background of that time. Chrysanthemum-made masterpiece "Flowers Scattered by the Heavenly Daughter" was falsely labeled as "revival" by the ultra-left trend of thought and was severely reprimanded. Fortunately, on the eve of the exhibition, under the gaze of then Governor Chen Yu, the exhibition was held as scheduled with enthusiastic support. According to the admission statistics, this flower show has exceeded one million people, setting a previous record.

1979 held the Chrysanthemum Festival, with flower fields spanning pavilions and pavilions, imitating 50 kinds of traditional scenery. At that time, the central, provincial and Hong Kong media went to Xiaolan for coverage. Xiaolan people warmly receive overseas people, which is "yellow flowers spread friendship and celebrate homesickness". Riding the Chrysanthemum Party in the wind of reform, Xiaolan opened the prelude to take off in the new era.

During the period of 1989, the town was in the climax of urban construction, and the Chrysanthemum Club didn't do any expansion activities, but just exhibited in the form of "Autumn Chrysanthemum Appreciation" as usual, with some innovative contents. 1994 is the fourth traditional chrysanthemum festival in Xiaolan. In order to link the past with the future and conform to the public opinion, the second meeting of the Ninth People's Congress of Xiaolan made a resolution in February 1992, and decided to turn the fourth Chrysanthemum Conference of 1994 into a large-scale culture and art festival with chrysanthemums as the theme.

This grand event is divided into three exhibition areas, four exhibition fields, five roads and 198 scenic spots, with a total area of 10 square kilometers. More than 820,000 pots of chrysanthemums were exhibited, with chrysanthemum varieties 1568. Among the 704 pots of Chrysanthemum morifolium, each flower 1027 (18 circles), 1 13 pots. Among them, the two pots of Chrysanthemum morifolium were "Bai Mudan" (variety name) with 43 laps, with 5677 flowers per plant, and "green dress" (variety name) with 42 laps, with 54 19 flowers per plant, all of which set a new record for the number of flowers per plant of Chrysanthemum morifolium in kiness world. In addition to the technique of establishing chrysanthemum at the beginning, it is worth mentioning the grafting technique of modeling chrysanthemum and the hanging technique of chrysanthemum. The grafted chrysanthemums in this chrysanthemum exhibition have a layered tower-shaped "Gerbera jamesonii". One plant is grafted with multiple varieties, one layer for each variety, forming a tower shape, generally 8- 10 layers. Grafting bonsai chrysanthemum (chrysanthemum) with vigorous old stems. In addition, there are four pots of hemispherical grafted chrysanthemums, each pot is grafted with 60 varieties of chrysanthemums, which are tied into five circles in the form of big chrysanthemums, 9 1 flower. 60 varieties symbolize the 60-year Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Congress. A chrysanthemum grafted with 60 varieties, which is open and consistent, can be called a treasure in chrysanthemum art. The hanging patterns of chrysanthemums exhibited in this chrysanthemum exhibition include not only traditional plane figures, patterns and chrysanthemum walls (inclined formwork walls), but also three-dimensional artistic scenery groups integrating electricity, light and sound in chrysanthemum art, and a rough combination of exquisite figures, dragons and phoenixes and colorful chrysanthemums. Throughout the Chrysanthemum Club, * * * exhibited 134 groups of theme modeling attractions of chrysanthemum binding and chrysanthemum building. The event attracted more than 6 million tourists from China and 23 countries and regions.

In June, 2004, Xiaolan Town held (Shen Jia) Chrysanthemum Culture and Art Appreciation Meeting. With the theme of "Charming Xiaolan, Showing the New Style of Chrysanthemum Art", both the exhibition and chrysanthemum art have made new breakthroughs, and the largest single chrysanthemum has been listed in Guinness World Records. During the Chrysanthemum Festival, the Ministry of Culture awarded Xiaolan the title of "Hometown of China Folk Art (Chrysanthemum Culture)".

In May, 2006, the "Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Club" became the spiritual motivation of Xiaolan people's fearlessness, hard struggle and courage to fight, and also became the original vitality of modern Xiaolan people to seize opportunities and develop various brilliant undertakings.

In June 2007, Xiaolan Town will hold the 9th China (Zhongshan Xiaolan) Chrysanthemum Exhibition to further promote and develop the traditional chrysanthemum culture and art.
