How to prune the annual yellow-flowered Suzuki
Platanus orientalis grows fast at seedling stage, with soft trunk, easy lodging and germination, and its natural plant type is often poor. In order to obtain an upright plant type, after planting, bamboo with a height of about 2 meters should be erected next to the seedlings from the height of 3~5 cm to guide the plants to grow upright, and the seedlings should be tied once every 5 cm. Pruning and shaping should be carried out regularly during the growth period, and low meristematic lateral branches should be cut off. After defoliation in winter, pruning and shaping should be carried out once, and diseased branches, dead branches and low-lying lateral branches should be cut off to keep the trunk growing straight. Because the bark of Platanus acerifolia is thin, it is easy to be damaged by the friction of the supporting bamboo pole, and it is easy to form a big wound after being damaged, which affects the appearance. Therefore, it is necessary to line the contact part between its trunk and the supporting bamboo pole with soft cloth to avoid the damage of the bark. When the trunk is 1.8~2 meters high, the branches on the top are reserved to form a crown. After 3~4 years of big seedling cultivation, when the plant is more than 3 meters high and the diameter is 4~6 cm, it can be planted in gardens.

I hope I can help you!
