The 18th Incident, also known as the Fengtian Incident and the Wicker Lake Incident. It was an incident in which the Japanese Kwantung Army stationed in the northeast of China suddenly attacked Shenyang on September 193 18, 2008 and occupied the northeast by force. The September 18th Incident was the beginning of Japanese imperialism's attempt to conquer China by force.

1931September 18 night, the Japanese kwantung army, entrenched in the northeast of China, blew up the Japanese South Manchuria railway track built by the railway "guard" near Shenyang Liutiao Lake and blamed it on the China army. Using this as an excuse, the Japanese army shelled the North Camp of the Northeast Army in China, creating the "September 18th Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries.

The next day, the Japanese army invaded Shenyang and successively invaded the three northeastern provinces. 1February 932, the whole northeast fell. Since then, the Japanese puppet Manchukuo regime was established in the northeast of China, and began to enslave and colonize the people in the northeast for 14 years, making more than 30 million compatriots in the northeast suffer from conquered people.

1991September 18, China government opened the September 18th History Museum in Shenyang. Former Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto visited this place during his visit to China in 1997, and wrote "Harmony is Precious", becoming the first incumbent Japanese Prime Minister to enter the museum.

In addition to the September 18th History Museum in Shenyang, there is also a memorial hall for planning the September 18th Incident in white pagoda park, Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. At that time, it was called Baita Pavilion. The day before the incident, Simao held a conspiracy meeting with Shimonoseki's chief of staff, Shimonoseki and Shimonoseki's senior chief of staff, Sakamoto Kiyojiro, at the Baita Hotel in front of the railway station.
