In 2004, Guangming Daily, China Education News, China Chemical Industry News, Science and Technology Daily and Qingdao Daily all reported Professor Jian Fangfang's scientific research deeds. In addition, Professor Jian Fangfang applied for ten invention patents (five for the first inventor and five for the second inventor) in 2004, and won the first prize (the first place) in the natural science category of outstanding scientific research achievements in Shandong universities. Citation rate of published SCI papers reached 195 times. Moreover, by March 2005, Professor Jian Fangfang had published SCI papers 1 1, received 23 SCI papers and contributed more than 30 articles to SCI journals.
