How to make a brown sugar cake?

Ingredients: 80g brown sugar, 200g boiled water, 376g flour, 50g red dates + walnuts, 3g high-sugar resistant yeast powder;

Production process:

1. Brown sugar Completely melt with boiling water, core the red dates and cut them into pieces, put them into the water together, and then bring the water to a temperature of about 35 degrees;

2. Put the prepared walnut kernels in too;

3. Add flour and high-sugar resistant yeast powder. You need to pay attention here, because the fermented cake is very sweet, and ordinary yeast is resistant to low sugar. I use high-sugar resistant yeast powder for making bread, and the fermentation effect will be much better. In addition, I prepared the ingredients before going to bed and steamed them the next morning, so adding the yeast powder later can delay the yeast's effect. If you want to ferment as quickly as possible, you can mix the yeast powder with warm brown sugar water first, and then add the flour;

4. Use chopsticks to stir the flour and brown sugar water into a dough. No dry flour can be seen. This state is stickier than the dough of steamed buns but not soft, and it can still be formed.

5. Line the mold with oiled paper, or apply a layer of cooking oil on the inner wall of the mold. Wet your hands with water. Then take the dough out of the small basin, place it in the mold, and press and flatten it. If the dough is sticky, it will stick to your hands. Wet your hands with water and then touch the dough so that it will not stick to your hands, which is conducive to shaping;

6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate in the refrigerator for about 7 hours before taking it out. When it comes out, it has grown taller and will be elastic when touched lightly. If you have time, leave it at room temperature for a while to warm up. If you don't have time, just put it directly into a steamer or steamer and steam it until cooked. I put some red dates on the surface but forgot to take a photo.

7. Put it in the steamer and steam for 40 minutes. The same goes for the steamer. Boil water and steam for 40 minutes. Because this steamed cake is quite big, steam it for as long as possible to ensure that the inside of the steamed cake is cooked;

8. Take out the steamed steamed cake and remove the oil paper. Cut it and eat.

9. Cut it and put it on a plate. It tastes sweet, soft and elastic, and does not stick to your teeth. It looks delicious. I ate three pieces in one go!

When you cut the noodles, you can see the chopped red dates and walnut kernels inside. If you like, you can also add some raisins, cranberries and other dried fruits, which are also delicious. However, my eldest son doesn’t like to eat walnut kernels. If your children don’t like to eat them either, you might consider not adding them.

Fa Gao is like this. The ingredients are more casual, the method is simple, and the steaming effect is different from cakes and steamed buns. It is somewhere in between. It is soft and delicious, simple and easy to make, whether it is adults or children. It is also suitable for the elderly. If you feel that too much sugar is a bit too sweet, you can reduce the amount yourself.
