Permanent facial paralysis can be repaired and improved by plastic surgery. There are many plastic surgery methods, basically there are two kinds of surgery: dynamic repair and static repair. Static repair is to implant autologous fascia and biomaterials into the face, suspend and tighten the flabby orbicularis oculi muscle and orbicularis oris muscle, and restore the position and shape of eyelids and corners of the mouth. Dynamic repair is to transplant autologous muscle and nerve or muscle with vascular nerve to facial expression muscle of facial paralysis, rebuild the function of facial expression muscle, close eyelids, and coordinate and symmetrical mouth movements on both sides.
