This is an ordinary Brazilian tortoise with a fierce temperament. It sometimes bites people, so just pay more attention to it. The bite is not poisonous, so you can rest assured. If bleeding occurs, just disinfect the wound to prevent infection.
The carapace was severely damaged, so it must have been wild.
Things to note when raising turtles:
The turtle should be released frequently to crawl around and bask in the sun, but be careful not to let it escape.
A turtle is a reptile, not a fish. It absorbs oxygen directly from the air, not the water.
A relatively deep fish tank is not suitable, especially if you put the turtle in it when it is filled with water, it will have to swim to the surface of the water very hard and put its head out for ventilation. After a long time, it will lose its physical strength. If not, you will drown. The water just covers the turtle's back.
Put a stone in the middle of the fish tank. This is for the turtle to bask in the sun and rest, because the turtle cannot always be soaked in water, otherwise it will seriously affect the health, and even the turtle shell will rot! The size of the stone should be larger than that of the turtle and occupy about one-sixth of the area of ??the fish tank. The height should be slightly higher than that of two turtles stacked on top of each other. The top should be flat. Of course, water must be added to the fish tank. The water surface should be slightly lower than the surface of the stone because Turtles do not breathe in water, so their water requirements are far lower than the standards for fish farming, as long as the water is not too turbid and smelly.
I usually feed it feeds, including small fish, shrimp and other animal feeds twice a week. This way the nutrition is more balanced. It is recommended that you do not feed raw meat for a long time. It is not good for the little turtles. If the raw meat is not processed cleanly, the little turtles will easily get white eye disease. It's dangerous if your water is not clean, making your turtles more susceptible to disease. When you are feeding, no matter what kind of bait it is, you must take it out when the turtle stops eating, so as not to affect the water quality.
