Lingnan bonsai has three characteristics that are different from other schools. First, make good use of pruning without showing any traces of cuts. Second, focus on the shape and selection of landscapes and pots, and strive for harmony between pots and landscapes. Third, the creative technique is unique, following nature, highlighting branch techniques, and the shaping or composition layout is derived from nature but higher than nature.

Su Pai bonsai is known for its elegance and simplicity. The old branches of Qiu trunks that have been planted for decades or even hundreds of years can grow up to a height of more than a foot when cultivated in small pots.
The second characteristic of Su style bonsai is that it is exquisitely crafted and clever, just like Jiangnan silk and bamboo music, giving people a sense of elegance, splendor, fun and smoothness.

The Yangpai's rock bonsais are mainly flat and far style, which embodies the Jiangnan sentiment of "the tide is flat and the two sides are wide, the wind is blowing and the sail is hanging".
The branches and leaves are cut and tied into parallel branches, with the leaves flat and upward, like extremely thin "clouds" floating in the blue sky.
Shanghai-style bonsai
Shanghai-style bonsai is eclectic and not restricted by any formula, but it places great emphasis on theme, hierarchy and variability in layout.
In the production process, we strive to reflect the wild charm of mountains and forests, pay attention to the form of ancient trees in nature and the individuality of tree species, and make the most of the situation and take shapes according to the objects.
