There are two methods for eggplant pruning and hybridization:
1. Double-stem pruning method;
When the eggplant bifurcates for the first time, do not operate and keep the two stems. branches, and only one branch of the last two branches is retained at a time, so that the whole plant always has only two branches.
2. Continue to pick and change the head:
Leave only one branch at the beginning, and when the eggplant grows to 1.1m, pick the other branch and use it as the main branch. Mutual control ladder pruning method: reserve 2 side branches within the main branch, reserve 2 side branches within the side branches, reserve 4 branches at the end, and reserve 4 branches alternately.
Temperature
Eggplant likes high temperatures. The optimal temperature for seed germination is 25-30 degrees Celsius. The optimal temperature for seedling development is 25-30 degrees Celsius during the day and 15-20 degrees Celsius at night. When the temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius, it grows slowly, causing flowers to drop. Metabolic disorders below 10 degrees Celsius.
Lighting
Eggplant has high lighting time and intensity requirements. Under high-intensity conditions, eggplants grow vigorously, have good flower bud quality, high fruit yield, and good coloring.
Moisture
Eggplant needs less water before it is formed, but after the eggplant grows rapidly, it needs more water. Eggplant needs water most before and after harvesting, and water needs must be fully met. Eggplant likes water, but is afraid of water. When the soil is moist and ventilation is poor, the air humidity is high and diseases are prone to occur.
