What are the growth and fruiting habits and characteristics of apple-pear pruning?
Apple pear is mainly produced in Yanbian area, Jilin Province, and it is named because it looks like an apple.

Young apple-pear trees grow vigorously, with upright branches and gradually open after fruiting. The germination rate of young trees is moderate, and after one year of short branches, 2 ~ 3 long branches can be taken out after cutting. The germination ability of basal buds and latent buds of trees entering the full fruit stage is still very strong. When the backbone branches are nearly horizontal or drooping, the latent buds at the base are often prone to long branches.

Young trees mainly bear short fruit branches, and the number of long fruit branches is also large. Sometimes axillary flower buds can be formed on long fruit branches. Mature trees mainly bear short fruit branches and short fruit branches, which have a long life and strong continuous fruit-bearing ability.

Young trees should be lightly cut, except for the extension branches of the trunk, which are moderately short cut. Other branches are generally not short cut. The main branches should be properly retained, but the branches should be opened in time. For the upright branches with inner cavities, if the growth of the backbone branches is not affected, they can be leveled after slow release, so that more short and medium branches germinate and form flower buds in that year, and then gradually cleaned and retracted after the results.

Results After many times of fruiting, the growth of branches is easy to weaken or droop, so attention should be paid to timely retraction and rejuvenation.
