Whether it is scalded by boiling water or steam, the temperature of scalded skin should be reduced first to reduce further damage to the scalded area, and washing with water can also relieve the pain. If the wound is not broken, it will take about 10 minutes. If the wound has been broken, you can't invade the air bubble again to avoid infection. If the burn area is too large, you should soak your whole body in the bathtub. You can also soak in water with a towel and apply it to the parts that cannot be washed with water.
In case of burns, first of all, don't panic, and don't rush to take off thin clothes such as undershirts and stockings. Rinse them with cold water immediately. Only after cooling can you carefully take off your close-fitting clothes to avoid tearing and scalding blisters. The purpose of cold water washing is to relieve pain, reduce exudation and swelling, thus avoiding or reducing the formation of blisters. The washing time is about half an hour or more, so as not to feel pain when stopping washing. The general water temperature is around 20℃. Avoid using ice water to avoid frostbite. If you burn your fingers, you can also take a bath with cold water. Cold compress can be used on the face and other parts where you can't wash your face or take a bath. After cold water treatment, dry the wound, then apply some ointment drugs such as blue oil hydrocarbon and green ointment thinly, and then wrap it properly for 1~2 days to prevent blisters. But you can only show your face without clothes. If blisters form, you can use a sterile syringe to suck or cut a small hole to drain water. If the blister is broken, dry it with a sterile cotton ball and keep it dry, so as not to make the water accumulate into blocks. Do not apply purple liquid or mercuric chloride after scald, so as not to affect the observation of wound changes after injury. Large or severe burns should be sent to the hospital immediately after general emergency care at home. It is wrong to soak in soy sauce after scalding, because soy sauce itself contains a lot of bacteria, which is not conducive to heat dissipation and is easy to cause wound infection. Don't apply toothpaste after scalding.
Pay attention to the cleanliness and dryness of the wound surface for skin burns, and avoid soaking again after cold water washing. After about 2~3 days, the wound can be dried. There is no need to take medicine at this time. It takes about 10 days to remove the scab and recover. If it doesn't heal at that time, please ask a doctor to see if it is caused by deep burns or infection. Antibiotics are generally not used after scalding. If 1~2 days later, the wound is still red, swollen and painful, then infection is suspected and can be treated under the guidance of a doctor to avoid unnecessary pain.
