Our library joined the Shanghai Central Library in May 2003, realizing the "one card" and * * * * sharing of resources. This museum is now a first-class museum at the prefecture (city) level.
The temporary site is Qi Xin Road 182 in Xinzhuang (the newspaper reading area is at No.326 Qi Xin Road). There are adult lending area, children lending area, information reading area (including electronic reading area, Shanghai style area, world style area and regional information area), newspaper reading area, study room with bags, reader activity room and office area. , open 7 1 hour every week.
By June 2006, there were 340,000 books in the library. Subscribe to 708 newspapers and periodicals. The databases of Tsinghua Tongfang and Chongqing Weipu are used in the form of guaranteed storage or traffic charge, and the full-text databases of Shanghai Local Records Database, Xinmin Evening News and Wen Wei Po (founded to 1999) have been purchased. LAN is equipped with multimedia resource library. The characteristic collections are mainly local documents. There are electronic literature databases and fine collection libraries.
A "Minhang District Public Library Service Network" has been established, and a public information system platform has been established between district libraries and community libraries by using the cable broadband metropolitan area network that has been built in our district. By adopting an intensive management mode, library cards, opening hours, purchasing and cataloging, and unified identification have been unified, and the book circulation and information service processes of all libraries have been standardized, so as to provide cultural services for the general public in a deeper way. 12 Town Street Library has successively become a community branch of the service network, and gradually established community service points. There is also a mobile library. At present, there are 25 service points of the garrison troops, juvenile reformatory 1 service point, and books are changed at home every quarter.
Minhang District Library Network (www.mhcnt.sh.cn) and Minhang Cultural Information Network (www.mhcnt.sh.cn) were established to display local cultural resources, with a total content of 3GB, a self-built database of 4 1mb, an English column and a series of online "online cultural activities".
A "knowledge navigation station for people's library" has been set up, and an online information desk and a post information desk have been set up. Periodically publish bulletins such as Public Information, Reading Information and New Citizen's Home, and provide reference and literature services.
There are Mintu Civic School and Youth Reading Club, which allow readers to enter the learning platform free of charge, hold a series of lectures on "Learn to speak Shanghainese", "Local Literature and History", "Online Reading for the Elderly" and "Extracurricular Reading for the Teenagers" on a regular basis, and carry out reading activities such as art DV salon, photography salon for the elderly and literature salon for the new citizens. And set up a "green leaf volunteer team" to carry out reading guidance activities.
Our library has been rated as a civilized unit and advanced collective in Minhang District for many times in a row, and as a model learning unit in Minhang District.
The new museum was built in the No.8 plot of Shanghai New Town (namely, the south side of the south square of Xinzhuang subway station, the east side of Central Park and the west side of Dushi Road). The project started at the end of 2006 and is expected to be completed and opened in 2008.
