Where is the specialty of Jiyuan Panyan?
Also known as Tiantan inkstone, it is produced in Jiyuan, Henan. According to legend, heaven and earth were opened by Pangu. Long ago, he became a giant in a big egg. 180,000 years later, he kicked off the eggshell and came out. He created heaven and earth, the sun, the moon, stars, flowers, birds, insects and everything. When he was born, the eggshell kicked out by him was buried under Taihang Mountain and gradually turned into a delicate and smooth stone. The watertight inkstone made of this kind of stone became the famous "pan inkstone". Pan inkstone was first made in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, and it has a history of twelve centuries. This inkstone was produced near the Pangu Temple of the King of Wu. After Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty made textual research on Pangu, Pangu inkstone became famous all over the world. Pangu inkstone is delicate, firm but not brittle, smooth and moist. After being cut into inkstone, the ink is fast and fine, with strong wettability and no damage to both ends.
