Since 2007, the smile train project has entered a new development stage. The Ministry of Health and the Chinese Stomatological Association accepted the invitation of the American Smile Train Foundation and became formal project partners. At the same time, the number of surgical cooperative hospitals has been increased on a large scale, the organizational management structure of the project has been adjusted, and the responsibilities of each partner have been further clarified. With the administrative support of the government, the technical guidance of professional societies and the full cooperation of the National Charity Association, the Smile Train Project has become the largest national charity project in cooperation with government agencies, medical institutions and charitable organizations.
Smile train project has been carried out for nearly 10 years and has achieved remarkable results. As of September 2008, 397 hospitals across the country have undertaken the operation task of the Smile Train Project. Nearly 6.5438+0.5 million cases of free surgery have been completed. It has made beneficial contributions to improving the quality of life of poor patients with cleft lip and palate in China.
