Over the years, Jian Xu has been a veteran wildlife photographer, nature journalist, photography tutor, protectionist, He has worked in China Wildlife Photography Training Camp (CWPTC), chinese national geography Lecture Hall (CNG), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Nature Conservancy (TNC), International Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), International Animal Welfare Fund (IFAW), Conservation International (CI), China-Europe Biodiversity Project (ECBP), Beijing Zoo and Canon China Limited Youth Exchange Foundation, and Beijing Normal University. Beijing Forestry University, Beihang University, National People's Congress, middle school affiliated to Peking University, many primary and secondary schools and many wildlife protection NGOs have successfully carried out slide show and wildlife photography training in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Xi 'an, Chengdu, Kunming, Ya 'an, Nanning, Chongzuo and Xishuangbanna, with a total audience and students of nearly 10,000.

In order to encourage and promote nature conservation and public participation in eco-photography, Jian Xu participated in the organization, planning and selection of many domestic nature photography competitions, including chinese national geography, Flying Feather Moment, Wilderness Legend and Colorful. In 2008, he edited Shu Yun Wilderness-Picture Book of Sichuan Protected Area; In 2009, China Forestry Publishing House published a monograph "Handbook of Nature Photography" with Jian Xu as the main author and a translated version of "Taking a Camera to the Wild-How to Shoot a Wildlife Documentary", which filled the gap in this field in China. In 20 1 1 year, China Encyclopedia Publishing House also published natural protection monographs such as Meili Snow Mountain Natural Observation Manual and Karst Biodiversity in Southwest Guangxi edited by Jian Xu and the author of the main map.
