Maintenance method of five-needle pine bonsai
Four key points should be paid attention to in the maintenance of five-needle pine bonsai: lighting, watering, fertilization and pruning.

First of all, light

When maintaining the five-needle pine bonsai, you need a certain amount of light, and you can't be exposed to the sun for a long time. In midsummer, keep out the strong light and don't expose yourself to the sun, or you will burn the branches. You can keep it indoors in the morning and evening in summer and move to the shade at noon.

Second, water.

American ginseng can't be planted with stagnant water, and even the soil in the basin would rather dry than stagnate. It is best to let it grow in a slightly humid environment. When watering, it should change according to the dryness of the basin soil, and there should be no excess water in the basin. The air is dry in summer, so you can spray some water properly.

Third, fertilization.

Fertilization is generally carried out in spring and autumn. The amount of fertilizer should not be too much, and the concentration should be lower. If it is too high, it will burn the roots. Full-decomposed cake fertilizer can be applied 2-3 times in spring, and the general interval is about 10 day; Fertilization in autumn can be slightly coarse, but the degree should be controlled.

Fourth, pruning

In order to make the shape of bonsai more unique, it needs pruning every year. Some branches will grow white and turn yellow because of improper maintenance methods, so such branches should be cut off as soon as possible. After it suffers from pests and diseases, its branches and leaves will have bad performance, and it should be pulled out in time after it is found.

Prevention and control of root rot and needle yellowing of Pinus quinquefasciatus;

1, rotten root

When new leaves were born that year, yellow shoots appeared between summer and autumn, and the tip died after late autumn, mainly because of improper watering, especially too often watering at ordinary times, which made the basin soil in a wet state for a long time, resulting in soil hypoxia and root rot; Some plants are too deep, the drainage layer is too shallow, or the drainage holes are blocked, resulting in water accumulation and rotten roots in the soil; Some protect winter in winter and spring, and the soil is buried too deep, which is not cleaned in time in early spring, leading to the death of root system due to lack of oxygen.

Therefore, the soil water content of Pinus quinquefolia should be kept between 15-30%, not lower than 10% and higher than 35%.

Step 2 turn yellow

The soil and water in the north are alkaline. Even though the potted soil is slightly acidic, the PH value of the poured water is very high, and sulfur and ferrous sulfate are not added to adjust the acidity. After 6- 10 months, the soil was alkaline and the leaves turned yellow. This yellowing can be solved by alum fertilizer.
