How about using 3 16 as a medical stainless steel pipe fittings?
Introduction to 3 16lvm:

Vacuum arc remelting technology is adopted. This process can produce more consistent chemical characteristics, and the content of voids and pollutants is extremely low, which is more suitable for surgical implants.

This kind of austenitic stainless steel was originally made by arc melting technology. Then, as the improvement of metal purity and uniformity, 3 16LVM adopts vacuum arc remelting (VAR). This process produces a more uniform chemical action, thus minimizing holes and pollutants. This alloy can meet all requirements of 3 16LS.

heat treatment

Reducing atmosphere is the first choice for heat treatment, but inert gas can also be used. At the temperature of1010-1121c, 3 16LVM will be completely annealed in a few minutes. The corrosion resistance of other 300 series alloys is reduced due to carbide precipitation, which is controlled by reducing the carbon content in 3 16LVM.

Application:

3 16LVM material has been used for permanent implants for many years. Good corrosion resistance in annealed state. Many researches on new alloys refer to 3 16LVM. This kind of stainless steel has good ductility under cold working conditions. Applications include: suture, plastic cable for plastic surgery, skin suture nail, catheter, bone needle and many small processing parts.

Surface condition

When stainless steel is drawn into filaments, it becomes a highly polished appearance. When treated with SCND* mold and measured by surface photometer, the surface roughness can be less than 5 RMS. The wire with a diameter greater than 0.040 "is polished by polycrystalline die, and its surface is rougher than that of natural diamond die. The surfaces of wires with diameters greater than 0. 100 "are rougher because they are drawn with cemented carbide dies. Other surface treatments can strengthen the surface of the wire.

*SCND stands for single crystal natural diamond.
