Stage Ib (T2NOMO) of middle esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, how to treat it later?
According to NCCN guidelines, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and T2N0M0 do not need systematic chemotherapy. However, the patient's upper margin mucosa has severe atypical hyperplasia, which shows the diversity of esophageal cancer. In other words, even if you do radical resection of esophageal cancer, esophageal cancer may still occur in other parts of the esophagus. Severe atypical hyperplasia is actually a precancerous lesion of esophageal cancer. Therefore, it is necessary to closely observe the changes of the site of severe atypical hyperplasia above the anastomosis, and if necessary, ESD (endoscopic mucosal resection) or PDT (photodynamic therapy) can be used to treat severe atypical hyperplasia at least once a month.
