Liu Jide, author of this book and researcher of Hunan Yanhuang Culture Research Association, believes that this is the first monograph on the origin of surnames in China.

Liu Wenhua has a long history. According to Liu's genealogy, Yuan Ming, the ninth son of Yao Emperor in ancient times, was the "ancestor" of Liu's 1 generation (taking fiefs as his surname), which lasted for more than 4,000 years and has been passed down to 180 generations.

According to Liu Jide, the History of Liu's Origin in Hunan began to collect data from 1998, and the first draft was written in 2008, which was completed in the autumn of 20 10, and lasted for 13 years.

Although the book has been written, Liu Jide still hopes that if Liu's family name pedigree information is available, it can enrich the content of Hunan history of Liu's origin.
