Academician Zhong's ancestral home is Boluo County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. 1937 was born in a peasant family in the west of Boluo county on February 28th. Zhong Baimao, a famous physicist and popular science writer in China, is an academician of China Academy of Sciences, and once served as vice president of China Academy of Sciences and president of Sun Yat-sen University.
