People with congenital microphthalmos and no vision can directly wear prosthetic eye lenses, and the earlier they are worn, the better the development of the orbit. We have encountered many babies with congenital microphthalmos. After a few months of wearing prosthetic eye lenses, the eye sockets usually develop to be almost as big as good eyes in about a year.
Unless there are lesions in the eye, the eyeball must be removed as a last resort, or the eyeball is too small and the sunken feeling is too serious, and the mobility of the custom-made artificial eye is not ideal, and you want to remove the eyeball and implant it with a prosthetic eye platform. Customized eye lenses are also possible, but most patients with congenital microphthalmos can wear prosthetic eye lenses directly after it is determined that their eyes have no vision.
