Because lateral root is the main absorption root, in order to promote the growth of lateral root and increase the ability to develop around, the young root breaking method can be used.
Under the condition of sand storage, the root tips of seeds have been exposed before sowing. When the seeds grow to about 1cm, the wet sand will be screened out with a sieve, and the tender roots of the seeds will be broken. When the seeds with tender taproots continue to take root, a large number of lateral roots will grow directly, thus forming a strong root system. Although the main root is lost, the number of fibrous roots will increase.
Cotyledons play an important role in the process of seed rooting and germination. If cotyledons are removed during germination, stems and roots will not get the nutrition provided by cotyledons and will wither and die soon.
