How to shape begonia flower
The modeling processing of Xifu Begonia is often combined with rolling and pruning, and the processing period is suitable after defoliation in winter and before germination in spring. During the rainy season, the new branches are mature and elastic, which is also suitable for cutting and binding. 2 ~ 3 years old seedlings can be processed, with strong plasticity and simple operation. Brown silk and metal wire are better used together, trunk and branches need to be properly knotted, and all branchlets should be trimmed and shaped. It is suggested that the branches and leaves should be trimmed into a natural crown, and not tied too neatly. Begonia grows rapidly in Xifu, so it is necessary to remove brown silk and metal wire in time to prevent damage to trees. It can be processed into various shapes such as inclined dry type, curved dry type, waterfront type, cliff type, double dry type and multi-dry type. It is advisable to choose a medium-deep glazed pottery basin or a purple sand pottery basin. The shape of the basin can be round, square, rectangular, etc. And the color and color of the basin are better. It likes fat and grows rapidly, so the pot should not be too small or too shallow. The planting and pot turning of Xifu Begonia bonsai should be carried out in February-March or late autumn. It is advisable to use loose and fertile garden soil, humus mixed with sand or chaff ash as matrix, and mountain mud is also acceptable. When you put the pot or turn it over, you can put a small amount of decomposed cake crumbs and bone meal at the bottom of the pot as base fertilizer. Young trees grow faster, and pots can be turned over in 1 ~ 2 years, and old stumps can be separated by 2 ~ 3 years. When turning the pot, you need to trim the roots and branches to increase the appearance and maintain balance. Xifu begonia bonsai should be placed in a sunny and ventilated place. Insufficient light, bad growth, not bright enough color, no need to shade in summer. It is hardy. In winter, it can be buried in the outdoor shelter from the wind and the sun, or it can be moved into a well-lit indoor winter, and the temperature can be kept at about 0℃. If it is heated indoors in winter, it can bloom ahead of time and go out in March of the following year.

Xifu begonia bonsai should always keep the soil moist, but it can't accumulate water. Water more properly in the spring and summer growth period, and water enough in time when it is hot in summer. If leaves are short of water, they will die easily. Water gradually after it is cool in autumn, and water less after the leaves fall in winter (except when flowers are urged) to prevent the roots from rotting. It is a deciduous tree species, so it is not advisable to spray too much water on the branches and leaves. Xifu Begonia likes fertilizer, so it can be applied more appropriately, and attention should be paid to the coordinated use of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If the amount of nitrogen fertilizer is too much, it is easy to cause lush foliage and sparse flowering. After flowering in spring, nitrogen fertilizer is mainly applied to promote the growth of branches and leaves. Applying more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in summer and autumn is conducive to flower bud differentiation and ensuring bright colors of flowers. The fertilizer can be cake fertilizer, human excrement, bone meal, chicken excrement, fishy water, etc.

Begonia has strong germination and fast growth in Xifu. Pay attention to shaping and pruning. After defoliation in winter, before germination in spring, you can cut off messy branches such as dead branches, diseased branches, weak branches, cross branches, overlapping branches and over-dense branches. After flowering in spring, according to the needs of modeling, the excessively long branches can be shortened appropriately to promote lateral branches, increase the number of flower buds and ensure a wide variety of flowers in the coming year. In addition, after germination in spring, too many dense and poorly positioned buds can be erased.
