Lip cancer is a malignant tumor in oral and maxillofacial region. Generally speaking, the incidence rate is relatively low, and there may be no obvious symptoms in the early stage. Some of them only show the symptoms of cheilitis, such as red and swollen lips, which may lead to ulcers and repeated non-healing. Some will form a lump, most of which is a lump or ulcer. Then, if the tumor is not treated, it will gradually enlarge or grow faster. In this case, the possibility of malignant transformation needs to be considered, and further surgical resection is needed. Its nature can be determined by postoperative pathology.
Generally speaking, in addition to the resection of local lesions, lip cancer also needs to do lymph node dissection around the face and neck, because the lips may affect the appearance, so it is best to do plastic surgery to remove and repair. Of course, according to the postoperative pathological conditions, if the degree of malignancy is relatively high and the number of lymph node metastasis is relatively large, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy are necessary. General radiotherapy is aimed at the number of lymph node metastases. If there is no lymph node metastasis, chemotherapy alone can be used.
