Selection and use of wrenches
Hello, wrench is the most commonly used tool in equipment maintenance, mainly used to twist bolts, nuts or threaded parts. If the wrench is improperly selected or used, it will not only damage the workpiece or wrench, but also cause accidents that endanger personal safety. Therefore, the correct selection and use of wrenches is particularly important. There are many kinds of wrenches, such as ring wrenches, open-ended wrenches, combined wrenches, adjustable wrench wrenches and dull wrenches.

Operation method 0 1

When removing bolts, the selection shall be made according to the principle of "socket wrench first, ring wrench later, open-ended wrench later and adjustable wrench last". When choosing a wrench, we should pay attention to the size of the wrench. The size of the wrench refers to the distance between the opposite sides of the bolt or nut that it can twist. If the wrench indicates that there is 22mm, that is, the angular distance of the bolt or nut that the wrench can rotate is 22mm.

Torx wrench ① The structure of the Torx wrench is characterized in that the two ends of the Torx wrench are wreath-shaped, and the inner hole of the Torx wrench is composed of two regular hexagons which are concentrically staggered by 30 degrees.

Many ring wrenches have elbows, and the common elbow angle is between10 ~ 45. Viewed from the side, the rotating pin part and the handle part are staggered. This structure is convenient to disassemble the bolts and nuts assembled in the concave space, and can provide operating clearance for fingers to prevent scratches.

② Usage of the ring spanner: When using the ring spanner, push the joint between the ring spanner and the bolt with the left hand to keep the ring spanner and the bolt fully matched to prevent slippage, and hold the other end of the ring spanner with the right hand and exert force. The wrench can change its position after rotating 30 degrees, which is especially suitable for removing bolts and nuts in narrow spaces.

The ring wrench can completely surround the head of the bolt and nut, so it will not damage the angle of the bolt and can apply a large torque. When using a wrench, be sure to match the size and shape of the wrench and the bolt completely, otherwise the bolt will be damaged or even personal injury will be caused by slipping.

04. Precautions for the use of ring spanner: When rotating, it is forbidden to extend the length of the spanner by putting the extension sleeve on the spanner to increase the torque, and it is forbidden to knock the spanner to increase the torque, otherwise the tool will be damaged. Torx wrenches with cracks and severely worn inner holes are strictly prohibited.

05. Open-ended wrench ① Structural characteristics of open-ended wrench: Both ends of the open-ended wrench are U-shaped jaws, which can cover the two opposite faces of the hexagon of the bolt or nut. Open-ended wrenches are mainly suitable for positions where socket wrenches and ring wrenches cannot be used. Because some bolts or nuts must be inserted from the side, the open-ended wrench can do it, but the ring wrench can't. The jaw of the open-ended wrench has a certain angle with the handle, and the use space can be increased by turning the open-ended wrench.

06.② How to use the open-ended wrench: When selecting the open-ended wrench, determine the appropriate model according to the size of the bolt head, and ensure that the diameter of the jaw is consistent with the diameter of the bolt head before operation, with no clearance.

When in use, first cover the open-ended wrench on the two opposite faces of the hexagon of the bolt or nut, and make sure that the wrench is fully matched with the bolt before applying force. When applying force, one hand pushes the joint between the open-ended wrench and the bolt. After ensuring that the wrench and the bolt are fully matched, the thumb of the other hand abuts against the wrench head, and the other four fingers hold the handle of the wrench and pull it left and right. When the bolt and nut turn to the limit position, take out the wrench and repeat the above process. When adjusting bolts in the process of inspection and maintenance, two open-ended wrenches are needed for fastening in order to prevent parts from rotating relatively. One wrench is used to fix the bolt at one end, and the other wrench is used to tighten or remove the bolt at the other end.

7. Precautions for the use of open-ended wrench: It is forbidden to add casing or knock the open-ended wrench when rotating, so as not to damage the wrench or damage the bolt and nut. It is forbidden to use an open-ended wrench to remove high-torque bolts. The position of the open-ended wrench should not be too high or only a small part of the nut head should be clamped, otherwise it will slip when fastening or disassembling, thus damaging the bolts, nuts or wrenches and even causing personal injury.

Long-term misuse of an open-ended wrench will cause the jaws to open, round or crack due to wear. Don't continue to use this wrench, otherwise it will damage the edges and corners of bolts and nuts. Never use an open-ended wrench as a crowbar, which will damage the tool.

8. Dual-purpose wrench A dual-purpose wrench, also known as a combination wrench, is composed of a ring wrench and an open-ended wrench, with one end being an open end and the other end being a ring end. This combination wrench is very convenient to use. In the process of fastening, the bolt can be screwed to the end with the open end first, and then the plum blossom end can be used to complete the final fastening, and the plum blossom end can be used first when loosening.

9. adjustable wrench ① Structural characteristics of adjustable wrench: adjustable wrench, also known as adjustable wrench, is suitable for bolts and nuts with irregular sizes, and the opening size can be adjusted at will within a certain range. One adjustable wrench can be used instead of multiple open-ended wrenches. Adjustable wrench consists of a fixed jaw and a movable jaw, and the opening of the wrench is adjusted by adjusting the screw.

10. How to use the adjustable wrench: When using the adjustable wrench, the adjustable wrench should be properly adjusted first, so that the adjustable wrench jaws are completely attached to the opposite sides of the bolt and nut, and there can be no gap. When in use, the movable jaw part of the adjustable wrench should be pushed and the fixed jaw pulled. Only in this way can the bolts, nuts and wrenches themselves not be damaged. If you don't turn the wrench like this, the pressure will act on the adjusting screw, and the jaw will become larger when stressed, which will damage the edges and corners of the bolt and nut and the wrench itself.

1 1. Precautions for the use of adjustable wrench: When using, it is forbidden to sleeve the wrench or knock the adjustable wrench at will. It is forbidden to use adjustable wrench as a hammer, which will damage adjustable wrench.

12. When disassembling hexagon socket head bolts and flower-shaped hexagon socket head bolts, special hexagon socket head wrenches and flower-shaped hexagon socket head wrenches can be used, most of which are L-shaped. The tail of the long end is designed to be spherical, which is beneficial to the operation of the Allen wrench from different angles and convenient to use in narrow angle space. When using L-shaped hexagon wrench and flower-shaped hexagon wrench, hold the long end and loosen or tighten it. The short end of the hand-held Allen wrench can be used to tighten the bolt quickly.

When using an Allen wrench, you should choose a wrench suitable for the hexagon hole of the bolt, and it is forbidden to use any lengthening device. If the lengthening device is used, the wrench may be twisted or even broken.

13. Knock wrench Knock wrench (also called knock twelve-point wrench and plum blossom knock wrench) is a special wrench, which is integrally forged from 45 # medium carbon steel or alloy steel. Mainly used for fastening and disassembling bolts or nuts with large torque. The invention has the characteristics of strong impact resistance, uneasy breaking, firmness and durability, and convenient use and storage. According to the size of the bolt, select the corresponding knock wrench, and put the wrench flat on the bolt or nut and clamp it. Tap the other end of the wrench with a hammer to turn the wrench, thus loosening the bolt or nut. You can also use steel pipe to lengthen the arm or hammer to easily tighten or remove large nuts.

The specifications of impact wrenches are divided into metric and English. Precautions: To prevent the hammer and wrench from slipping when knocking, which may hurt people and equipment. Please adopt it. Thank you! !
