Don't be careless about Qing Wu's bump on your palm. You may have tendinoma.
A boy of 12 years old found a lump in the palm of his right hand a month ago, showing Wuqinzhou. It hurts when you press it, sometimes even when you move things. Results The patient was diagnosed as "tenosynovioma" after medical treatment. Finally, the tendon sheath tumor was completely removed by surgery, and the symptoms were obviously improved after taking out the white cyst.

What is tendinoma? Liu Guowei, director of plastic surgery in Shu Tian Clinic, pointed out that tenosynovioma is the most common benign tumor in the hand, which is a cyst formed by the accumulation of gelatinous mucus protruding from the outer membrane of joints or tendons. Fortunately, it will not become a malignant tumor.

Liu Guowei said that tenosynovitis usually occurs in 20 to 40 years old, and most of them are women, accounting for about 3: 1. However, the etiology of tenosynovitis is unknown, which may be caused by external force or trauma, which leads to small cysts formed by joint injury, from small to large, and oppression of nearby tissues. When it compresses the nerve, it will make the hand numb or painful. If the cyst is connected to the tendon, the grip strength of the hand will change.

65% patients with tendinoma will have other conditions. Liu Guowei further pointed out that tendinoma is easy to occur in the hand, especially in the wrist joint on the radial side of the back of the hand, near the ulna on the back of the wrist and in the front of the wrist. In addition, tendinoma can cause some pain, and 35% of them have no other symptoms except a raised lump.

It is suggested that the tendon schwannoma be completely removed by surgery. Tendon schwannomas with low recurrence rate sometimes disappear on their own, but if they persist, or are painful or affect their activities, they need treatment. However, there are some methods to treat tendinoma, such as pressurizing, injecting drugs, and drawing out the liquid of tendinoma with a needle, but the recurrence rate is high, sometimes even exceeding 50%. Therefore, Liu Guowei suggested that it should be completely removed by surgery, and the recurrence rate could be reduced to only 3% to 4%.

Liu Guowei emphasized that tenosynovitis will not cause immediate life-threatening, but when it oppresses nerves, it will cause finger pain and even paralysis, which will bring troubles to daily life. Therefore, when an unknown Qing Wu mass is found on the hand or body, we should pay attention to whether there is any change. If swelling continues or changes are found, seek medical attention as soon as possible.
