Tree transformation method of honeysuckle planting
Although tree-shaped honeysuckle has the characteristics of natural formation, it is difficult to obtain ideal tree-shaped honeysuckle if it is allowed to grow freely. As long as a set of scientific shaping methods are adopted, the tree structure will be more reasonable, the distribution of branches and leaves will be more uniform, the crown shape will be more beautiful, the yield increase potential will be greater and the product quality will be better.

First, the vertical pole is a seedling

After tree-shaped honeysuckle seedlings are planted, influenced by planting technology and external environment, the seedlings tend to tilt and grow into crooked neck trees, which affects the beauty of the crown. In order to ensure the upright growth of the trunk, after the seedlings are planted, a small wooden stick or bamboo pole of about -40 cm should be erected next to the seedlings, and the seedlings should be tied and fixed to prevent the seedlings from being skewed.

Second, besides Meng, we will do it.

The bud sprouting ability of honeysuckle branches is very strong, and the bud head of almost every node can germinate. The core of tree-shaped honeysuckle is to ensure that the tree has a straight and obvious trunk. If the buds on the trunk are not erased in time, it will be difficult to cultivate a beautiful honeysuckle tree. The height of the stem is set at 35-40 cm, and 1-2 buds are left on the upper part as the plastic band, and all the buds on the trunk below 35-40 cm are smoothed. In the subsequent management process, once buds are found on the trunk, they must be erased.

Third, choose the main branch.

2-3 branches with strong growth, uniform distribution and suitable planting angle are selected as main branches (-grade backbone branches) in the plastic belt with seedlings left, and all the redundant branches are thinned out. When the main branch is 20-25 cm long, coring should be carried out to prevent the main branch from drooping too long and affecting the crown shape.

Fourthly, cultivate lateral branches.

After the core of the main branch is removed, 3-5 lateral branches will grow on each main branch, leaving only 2-3 lateral branches for secondary backbone branch culture, and all the redundant branches will be thinned out. When the secondary backbone branch grows to 1.5-20 cm, the core is removed, and 1-2 branches growing on the secondary backbone branch are left for the tertiary backbone branch culture. After a year of cultivation, the skeleton of the tree can be formed.

Fifth, promote the early success of Crown.

Lonicera japonica can branch 5-6 times a year, which is a fast-growing tree species. As long as it is cultivated properly, it can form a high-yield crown with a dry height of 30-40 cm, a tree height of 0.8- 1.0 m, a crown width of 0.6-0.8 m and 60-80 branches in one year. To achieve this goal, in addition to the above four measures, comprehensive measures such as topdressing, intertillage weeding, drought resistance and drainage, and pest control must be taken to promote the early formation of crown.
