It is required that the seedlings should be strong when using rotary form, with a height of more than 1.2 m and a fixed stem of 80cm ~ 100cm. Before the bud germinates, it should be cut twice at the branch 30 cm below the incision to promote the growth of long branches, and it should be selected as the main branch to keep a distance from the branches with concentrated hair under the incision, that is, "high fixed stem and low cutting". Generally, 3 ~ 5 main branches can be selected in the same year. If it is a strong seedling, the height is above 150 cm ~ 180 cm. If drip irrigation is installed in the garden, it may not dry up, and the required main branches are promoted entirely by positioning double-cut buds, which can be adjusted appropriately in summer, and more than 5 main branches can be selected in that year. In August of the planting year, the selected main branches will be opened at a certain angle to keep the central extension head upright. If it is not selected as the main branch, the growth potential can be slowed down by twisting the tip and smoothing the branches. At the end of the first year or the beginning of the second year, a middle cut of about 60 cm ~ 80 cm is left on the extension head of the central trunk to promote the branch (or combine with bud carving) to re-select the main branch. And so on, until the tree is about 3 meters high, the main branches have been selected enough, and the tree potential has eased. The selected main branches are not cut short in winter, and the buds on both sides are carved on them to promote the growth of branches for branch group culture, while the auxiliary branches promote the growth by carving buds, pulling branches and girdling. When the height of the seedling is less than 1.2m, the stem is fixed at 70cm, and all the sprouted branches are drained in the next spring, only the extension branches of the central stem are reserved, and the main branches are selected and reserved again, so that it is easier to cultivate the main branches suitable for the thickness difference of the central stem.
After five years, it will enter the full fruit period. The main task of pruning is to adjust the relationship between growth and fruiting, control competition in time, control the subordinate relationship between trunks, and shrink the weak branches that are too long to rejuvenate them. Branches should not be densely distributed on the main branches, generally about 1 m 10, and thin and slender branches are suitable.
When the planting density is high, slender spindle-shaped trees should be used, and all sprouting branches should be thinned except the extended branches of the central trunk in the next spring. Otherwise, the thickness difference between the main branch and the central stem will be difficult to widen, and the growth advantage of the central stem will not be guaranteed. Shearing mouth should be coated with protective agent such as lead oil.
In addition, some special growth and development habits of Hanfu apples should be fully understood when pruning, and targeted technical measures should be taken to achieve the purpose of reasonable pruning.
